Carrying my country’s flag ??
?? Again as they organized themselves and as we were waiting our turn to enter, we took again some pictures. I had two Ecuadorian and two Turkish flags, which I shared with my girlfriend.
?? Otra vez mientras ellos organizaban y mientras esperábamos nuestro turno para entrar, no volvimos a tomar fotos. Yo tenía dos banderas ecuatorianas y dos banderas turcas, que compartí con mi enamorada.
Some nostalgic feelings
?? I felt as if I were on my exchange year that took place from 2008 to 2009. I was holding flags with people around the world and having this funny “Where are you from?” or “What languages do you speak?” conversations.
?? Me volví a sentir como era en mi año de intercambio que ocurrió del 2008 al 2009. Yo sujetaba banderas con gente alrededor del mundo y tenía esta conversación divertida de “¿De dónde eres?” or “¿Cuáles idiomas hablas?”
Turkey's Republic Day starts (with us ^^)
?? We started to walk in the sun in the parade. We were wavering our flags. We passed Kızılay through the main avenue in Ankara called ‘Atatürk Bulvarı’, where I was often in my routine days.
?? Volvimos a caminar en el sol en el desfile. Flameábamos nuestras banderas. Pasamos Kızılay a través de la avenida principal en Ankara llamada ‘Atatürk Bulvarı’, donde yo estaba normalmente en mis días rutinarios.
?? The spectators were carrying turkish flags and they were very cheerful as we passed by. In many times, they saluted us (the whole group of foreigners) with a smile in their face and of course we replied back with the same joy. I heard a couple of times that someone identified my country’s flag, which made me wave my flag and I replied with a smile.
?? Los espectadores llevaban banderas turcas y estaban muy alegres cuando pasábamos. Muchas veces, nos saludaban (a un grupo de extranjeros) con una sonrisa en la cara y por supuesto contestamos con la misma alegría. Oí un par de veces que alguien identificó la bandera de mi país, lo cual me hizo flamear mi bandera y contesté con una sonrisa.

Too much ‘Republic' for a day
?? Afterwards, at the end of the parade, we sat down for a small rest. We drank water because we were the whole day under direct sunlight. What a day! I experienced this “Turkey's Republic Day” as a special guest inside the parade.
?? Posteriormente, al final del desfile, nos sentamos por un breve descanso. Bebimos agua porque estuvimos el día entero bajo los rayos del sol. ¡Qué día! Experimenté este “Día de la República Turca” con un invitado especial dentro del desfile.
An Act of Kindness for the foreigners
?? But there was excellent news! Some gentle Turk, perhaps associated with YTB, invited all of us to a restaurant. We are like 30 people, or more! But he wanted to give us some kind of welcome to his country.
?? ¡Pero recibimos una buena noticia! Un turco amable, quizás asociado con YTB, nos invitó a todos a un restaurante. Éramos como 30 personas, ¡o más! Pero nos quiso dar una gentil bienvenida a su país.
Let’s meet at the restaurant
?? So we headed to this place and we ended up eating among friends from many countries. The restaurant was looked like a fancy ottoman style; in fact, they had displayed the ottoman coat of arms. This gentle Turk invited us all a “Döner Plate” and a ‘Ayran’, both of them are tremendously… DELICIOUS!
?? Así que nos fuimos a este lugar y volvimos a comer entre amigos de muchos países. El restaurante se veía de estilo elegante otomano; de hecho, tenía un escudo de armas otomano exhibido. Este turco gentil nos invitó a todos un “Plato de Döner” y un ‘Ayran‘, ambos son tremendamente… ¡DELICIOSOS!
Gratitude first!
?? In the end, we thanked everybody we could, involved or not involved, and we left the place. We hoped again in the bus and everybody went to their corresponding homes. It was a great day and we all had fun in various ways.
?? Al final, agradecimos a todos los que pudimos, involucrado o no involucrado y dejamos el lugar. Trepamos nuevamente en el bus y todos fueron a sus respectivos hogares. Fue un gran día y todos nos divertimos de varias maneras.
