Peru ??, Episode 1 of my South American Trip

Peru ??, Episode 1 of my South American Trip

From Machala ?? to Mancora ??

??I am not gonna lie, I was anxious and nervous but full of energy and joy. The first kilometers in Peru, were like riding in my homeland with very little difference. But I realized this three-tire bikes called ¨moto-taxi¨ that were everywhere, crossing and blowing the horns a lot (which was a little annoying) but you'll get used to them afterwards.

The First Noticeable Change in Peru

?? After a few kilometers I was very surprised when I realized that the landscape was different. I was amazed by the huge change from the coast in Ecuador, which is green and full of grass, to the Northern Peruvian Desert. It was the first time that I was in a desert, it was amazing! The problem I had, was that I wasn’t ready to such heat and soon I started feeling the helmet very hot and the jacket ventilation wasn’t enough.

?? The first day riding out of my country it was supposed to be slow, caring for the bike and enjoying the view. I was driving through the desert and I crossed through Tumbes and Zorritos, two small citys with a lot of “taxi motos” but I didn’t stop. But then, I got into Punta Sal, very nice and small beach. And then realized another very important thing…

Traveler Tip #2
El Sepu

?? Before getting into another country, always try to exchange some money into their currency. Otherwise you’ll be like me thirsty and with no money to buy anything. In this case, I had to change from US Dollars (USD) to Peruvian Soles (PEN).

Punta Sal, Peru

??So, I was thirsty in the middle of another country. Punta Sal its a very touristic place and they should accept US dollars (Obviously, with an unfavorable exchange rate for me) but that’s only a small thing that I learned… and learn isn’t cheap, or is it?

??The coast was beautiful and also I filled my gas tank and reserve tank of La Balita so I could get with no problems until Mancora. It was such a great experience because I was received by Yola at her house. That was an amazing experience that will marked me during this trip and forever!

first kms in Peru

?? In the next chapter I'm going to talk about my Mancora experience. Remember to keep following your dreams!!!
