The French Onion Soup turns out to be a delicious meal even for soup haters! This is in fact the favorite meal of my girlfriend, as she enjoys it very much when we eat it in my parent's apartment.
This is no ordinary soup where you put the remaining ingredients from other meals, cook them and serve. Perhaps this reminds you to the popular ‘Chop Suey' from China, which also reminds you of the popular song from System of a Down.
Instead, from the start you prepare all the ingredients for this delicious soup! It's tasty, warm and it will leave you with a smile in the face. Remember the quote:
“Full belly, happy heart”.

Preparation of French Onion Soup in the Oven
Broth
In a cooking pot, prepare the broth with 1L of water with food seasoning (2 soup spoons of your favorite flavors). Also, preheat the oven at 150ºC.
Brown the ingredients
Meanwhile cut the onions, not in squares but crumbling them. Spread butter in a frying pan and brown (not fry) the onions. After it's done, take the onions out and add the flour to the melted butter and mix. Slowly and gradually add the broth into the frying pot. This way, it won't turn into small balls and it will dissolve! Add the milk and mix again. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.
Cut the tomatoes in slices and cook them. Place them over the bread on each bowl and then the onions and the cheese. Add the broth into the bowls and at the top add grated cheese for an extra flavoring.
Place in the frying pan the slices of bread, garlic and butter, and then mix. If the bread doesn't come sliced, then do it so. Once hot and melted, brown both sides of the bread in this mix. Place the browned breads in the ceramic bowls (this will go to the oven at least at 150ºC).
Cook in the oven
Put the ceramic bowls inside the oven and cook until the cheese is melted. This process should last for about 10 minutes. The French Onion Soup is ready.
Final version of the French Onion Soup
After it is cooked, you could add white wine (around 100mL should be enough) in each bowl.
