This souvenirs from Turkey or ‘relics', as I want to call them, are quite a selection of different memories. I lived just 5 months in Turkey but I felt it was longer. Each of them reminds me of some day or event that happened there. Some of them are super tasteful, quite colorful, largely meaningful and above all, beautiful.

My Souvenirs from Turkey
Language
In order to mantain my (little) knowledge of the turkish language, I practice (almost) every day at least 3 lessons on Duolingo. This way, I maintain that bind with its people, its culture and the personal satisfaction of speaking a 4th language.
Wall Hangs Souvenirs from Turkey
The turkish eye or Nazar Boncuğu, protects my home from the evil eye. Although the word comes from arabic, you will find it quite everywhere in Turkey.

Of course, you can't travel in Turkey without finding out who is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Olive Cream, Rakı and Tea
I should dedicate an entire post for each one.
Do you imagine waking up every day and seeing your sacred breakfast served with olives? In Turkey, this is a tasteful reality.
I drink seldom Tea in my homeland. But, as a surprise to me, Tea is everywhere in Turkey. Sometimes I even got free time, just as a apreciation for foreigners. Just got 5 min to relax? Drink tea.
Although in many countries in Middle East alcohol is not drunken, you find in some places ‘Rakı' which is a strong alcoholic beverage with a similar taste to anisette.
Music, as audible souvenirs from Turkey
I know, I know.
But you have to admit that music from the Middle East is just AWESOME! Some songs I found out using the app Shazam, which helped me discover music that would normally be out of my reach.

Turkish Flag
Some may believe that it is a little excessive to have the Turkish flag above your bed. On the contrary, it is actually really cool! Definitely one of the souvenirs from Turkey that I will see the most.

Although I printed this in A0 (84,1 x 118,9 cm) before going to Turkey, it is a precious and meaningful object hanging in my wall.
Cooking Recipes
Food is wonderful. Too bad if you are vegeterian or vegan because Turkey offers plenty of meals with lamb, beef, chicken and many other domestic animals.
Above is pictured a Lahmacun, made by myself in my homeland. It is also called the “Turkish Pizza” but you will learn to not confuse it with the Italian Pizza.

Hats
One of my favorites among the relics. The fez ıs just so cool! I needed to bring home 2 of them. The hat above was given to me by my girlfriend who went to Turkey a couple of years before me.
As you may have already noticed it, this hat is shown in voyageLlama's icon!
Books
Last but no least!
And definitely a treasure by itself.
The printed relics you see above include children books (for vocabulary learning), separators, a novel about Nasreddin Hoca, language learning books and flash cards and 2 books about Turkey and Istanbul.
